Spacecraft Mission Analysis & Planning

a.i. solutions has provided spacecraft mission analysis and planning for NASA, USAF, NOAA and MDA satellite missions. We have extensive experience in designing optimized trajectories that satisfy mission objectives and spacecraft operational constraints, using analytical or differential correction methods a.i. solutions’ vast analytical and operational maneuver planning experience consists of planning hundreds of orbit and attitude maneuvers for a wide variety of NASA, NOAA, and DoD spacecraft in every orbit regime including low-earth-orbit (LEO), mid-earth-orbit (MEO), geosynchronous (GEO), Lunar, Sun-Earth Libration Point, Heliocentric, and Interplanetary. The Magnetospheric MultiScale (MMS) mission is one of example of our capability to design complex formation flying missions, using advanced concepts to compute spacecraft positioning and timing information.

a.i. solutions also provides pre-mission orbit and attitude error analysis, orbit determination & prediction, and assessment of tracking and ground systems/design. We have extensive experience in attitude determination and calibration for three-axis stabilized and spinning spacecraft. We are the primary developer of the MTASS/MSASS tool suite, which reads telemetry, converts and adjusts data, identifies stars, estimates attitude, compares results with the onboard computer (OBC) attitude, and a host of other functions that support attitude determination, calibration, prediction, slew planning, and control. We also provide sensor and instrument calibration to correct for instrument misalignments, biases, and scale factor errors that may arise from a variety of unmodeled sources, which is critical to missions requiring high precision science data and/or tight attitude constraints.
